Compassionate In-Home Support for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

At Coastal Comfort Caregivers, we are proud to partner with the Regional Center of Orange County (RCOC) to provide compassionate, personalized in-home care for eligible children and adults with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to help individuals remain safe, independent, and engaged in their communities while providing much-needed support and peace of mind for their families.

How Referrals Work

Families are typically referred to Coastal Comfort Caregivers by:

  • Regional Center of Orange County Service Coordinators
  • Hospital discharge planners
  • Physicians
  • Social workers
  • Hospice agencies
  • Community professionals
  • Family referrals

Once the Regional Center of Orange County (RCOC) authorizes caregiving services, Coastal Comfort Caregivers receives a written referral from the client's Service Coordinator. This referral includes the client's approved service hours, authorized services, background information, care needs, and contact information.

After receiving the referral, our care team promptly contacts the client or their family to introduce our services, answer questions, and schedule an initial assessment. We work closely with the client, family members, and the RCOC Service Coordinator to develop a personalized care plan and carefully match the client with a compassionate caregiver who best fits their needs, personality, and schedule.

Authorized Care Hours

Each client receives an individualized service authorization based on their needs.

Depending on the approved care plan, services may include:

  • A few hours per week
  • Daily assistance
  • Ongoing long-term care
  • Temporary respite services

The number of authorized hours is determined by the Regional Center based on the individual's assessed needs and available services.
